Changes to Instagram Terms of Service – What They Mean to You

I’m sure you’ve heard the buzz about changes to the terms of service on Instagram today. The new rules which go into effect on January 16, 2012 state: “You agree that a business or other entity may pay us to display your username, likeness, photos (along with any associated metadata), and/or actions you take, in connection with paid or sponsored content or promotions, without any compensation to you…” Are you ready to give up the rights to not only your photographs, but also your image and likeness? Based upon what’s in the proposed changes, the recommended course of action right now would be to delete your account.
